The undergraduates have recently been very busy with house improvements and community service!  Be sure to read on below to find out about how the brotherhood has been updating the chapter house and helping the community!

Trophy CaseAlumni Relations:

Alumni involvement and donations have once again helped the Beta Pi chapter perform vast improvements to the chapter house over the 2013 summer. Generous donations helped refinish the basement, with new floors, paneling, speaker shelves, lights, and a garnet and gold paint scheme. Upstairs, the improvements have continued, with the installation of a trophy case on the first floor to highlight the various Smythe awards won by the Beta Pi chapter over the history of the chapter and with room for more awards in the future! We look forward to welcoming Beta Pi alums to the renovated house for Homecoming weekend.

Community Service:

Beta Pi is proud to have been able to participate in the Scott Mackler 5K Run/Walk on Sunday, October 27th. Scott Mackler, a ‘77 Beta Pi, suffers from ALS, or Lou Gehrig’s disease, a neurodegenerative disease that damages the brain and spinal cord. The Beta Pi chapter had an extremely strong showing at the Mackler Run, with two brothers, junior Sam Lobel and sophomore Zach Rosen, placing 5th and 10th overall in the run. The Beta Pi chapter raised over $1,200, which will go towards covering the cost of equipment to treat and improve the lives of those suffering from ALS. We thank our brothers from the University of Delaware’s Delta Eta Pike chapter for joining us at the run and we welcome other chapters interested to join us in supporting a fellow Pike and an excellent cause.
