On October 18, 2015, 25 Pikes—including alumni and undergraduates—participated in the 16th annual Scott Mackler 5K Run/Walk

As in past years, the undergrads chartered a bus to make the one-hour drive from campus to the event.

The run was a success, raising a total of close to $75,000. The top three Beta Pi Pikes in the run?

1st: Jake Stamell ’13
2nd: Jon Kluger ’14
3rd: Will Yang ’14

Jake Stamell also finished in the top three overall!

Each year, alumni make donations in order for the undergrads to participate gratis. Each participant is provided with a t-shirt, and first, second, and third place winners received personalized medallions. The participants then enjoy a full brunch during the awards ceremony.

This year, there was also a special dinner the evening before the run to honor the Mackler family, and some brothers attended it as well.

In total, the Mackler family has raised over $2,200,000 for the Scott A. Mackler Assistive Technology Program at The ALS Association of Greater Philadelphia to help ensure no ALS patient will ever be turned down for assistive technology equipment.

We are honored to participate in the run each year and help support the Mackler family in the fight against ALS. We hope you join us next year!
