In PiKA’s Sesquicentennial year, Beta Pi Chapter has announced that it has 18 New Members that were initiated on February 23, 2018. The undergraduate members are extremely happy to let the alumni know of their success. Prior to their initiation, as New Members, they were involved in several projects designed to help and improve life at Pi Kappa Alpha. In particular, they refurbished the beverage dispensary station in the basement Rathskeller, built their own class table, organized a fraternity social event and trip to the Philadelphia Eagles Super Bowl Parade, and have planned a philanthropy event for after spring break.
Joseph Churilla, Beta Pi ’17, Alumni Relations Chair, states, “I am proud to inform you and the rest of the Beta Pi Alumni that rush went very well for the chapter this year. Our new Alpha Beta class is composed of 18 new members, and the chapter believes that this class is one of the best in recent years. In addition, this class has several athletes, involved in Sprint Football, Club Baseball, Club Swimming, Rugby, and Ice Hockey. We also have a new member who is a student government representative.
A class size of 18 is among the largest class sizes on campus when compared to other fraternities. Overall, it seems that Greek Life as a whole is currently under more scrutiny from the university than in recent years, but this has neither affected our rush quality or quantity this year.”
