                                                                  Scott Mackler 5K

                The annual Scott Mackler MD PhD 5k run/walk (Mackler 5K) will take place at Temple Beth El, 301 Possum Park Road, Newark, Delaware, 19711, on Sunday, November 3, 2019, at 12:30 pm. The event was created by Harvey Mackler, Beta Pi ’72, and the Mackler family, to honor the legacy of Scott Mackler, Beta Pi ’77. All donations received are for the benefit of the ALS Association of Greater Philadelphia (ALS Philadelphia). Please find it in your heart to donate your time and/or money to ensure the continued success of this 20-year-old event. Donations can be sent to ALS Philadelphia at www.ScottMackler5k.com .

 

                                                                 Founders Day 2020    

                Founders Day 2020 will celebrate Beta Pi’s 100th year on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania, on Saturday, March 28, 2020, at the Inn at Penn. Do not miss out on this historic event. Look for further details in future editions of our newsletters and Slices. Contact your classmates and resolve to attend.                                                      Annual New York City Beta Pi Dinner

                The Annual New York City Beta Pi dinner, founded and organized by Jeff Kaufman, Beta Pi ’80, is scheduled for Wednesday, December 11, 2019, at 6:30 pm. This is the dinner you wait for every year. Clear your calendars. Last year’s dinner was a spectacular success (the speeches were very short). Do not miss this dinner. All out-of-town brothers should make their flight/train/hotel arrangements now. More than 25 Beta Pi brothers have already indicated their intention to attend. The dinner will be held at Ben and Jack’s Steakhouse, 219 E. 44th Street (between 2nd and 3rd Avenues), NYC. The projected cost of the dinner of $175/person includes drinks; payment details to follow. RSVP to jkaufman@avantilinens.com. All RSVPs must be made at least one week prior to the event.                                                 Annual New York City Faux Founders Day Dinner

                The Annual New York City Faux Founders Day 2020 Dinner, organized by Parker Weil, is scheduled for Thursday, March 5, 2020. Celebrate the founding of Pi Kappa Alpha Inter/National Fraternity as well as the 100th Anniversary of Beta Pi on the Penn campus.                                         NYC Pi Kappa Alpha Alumni Assoc. Dinner Event

                Is there anyone who is interested in the finest Barbecue restaurant NYC has to offer? The NYC Pi Kappa Alpha Alumni Association is organizing a get-together dinner at the Hill Country Barbecue Market, 30 W. 26th Street (between Broadway and 6th Avenue), NYC, on Tuesday, December 10, 2019, at 6:30 pm. Brothers from all chapters are welcome to enjoy the “Best Barbecue in NY” (New York magazine and Time Out New York) at one of the “Top 10 Barbecues in the U.S.” (Wall Street Journal). There is no cover charge; you pay only for what you order to eat and drink. You do not have to RSVP, walk-ins are welcome. However, if you do RSVP, it will enable the NYC PiKA Alum.
