As more and more businesses and organizations have been able to reopen or expand their services due to the loosening of coronavirus restrictions, Beta Pi enjoyed another internet happy hour.

Once again, Mark Bodner ’79 initiated, planned, and organized a ZOOM meeting. Despite short notice, approximately 15 Beta Pi alumni were able to free up their calendars to enjoy an evening with life-long friends. Among those in attendance, in addition to brother Bodner, were Ross Weiner ’80, Eric Morgenstern ’81, John Feder ’80, Larry Orans ’80, Jeff Kaufman ’80, Tim Averch ’82, Jimmy Post ‘81, Tom Fogarty ’81, Woody Rosenbach ’79, Bruce Wolfson ’71, Morty Cohen ’65, and Colin Vonvorys ’80. It was brother Fogarty who dubbed brother Bodner as the “ZOOM social chairman”.

Topics of discussion began with the problems of college students returning to campus in the fall and the failure of many people appearing in public to comply with coronavirus protocols. Conversations then led to anecdotal observations of how COVID-19 has affected businesses, health care, and just being able to leave their homes safely. Although the topics of conversation were on the serious side, the brothers in attendance addressed nearly everything with humor.

In the end, all in attendance had a great time, as evidenced by their frequent laughter, and were talking about having a ZOOM happy hour monthly.

Thanks again to Mark Bodner for making this all possible. If there are further ZOOM happy hours, all Pi Kappa Alpha brothers are invited to participate and have some fun.
