PHILANTHROPY FLASHBACK

The brothers of Beta Pi chapter have a long and distinguished history of charitable fund-raising and public service to the community and the University.

On February 24, 1981, The Daily Pennsylvanian presented a full-page ad, from the organizers of the University of Pennsylvania Annual Giving campaign, thanking the 16 campus groups that participated in a fund-raising telethon that set records for number of donors and the total amount donated.

Pi Kappa Alpha was one of four campus fraternities that took part in the Telethon. Other campus organizations that took part included the Friars Sr. Honor Society, Kite and Key Society, Penn Players, and nine other groups.

All those who participated in the Telethon, representing Pi Kappa Alpha, should be congratulated and thanked for the time they devoted for this commendable charitable endeavor.
